One kind of drought demon looks like a beast. One kind is a zombie that has changed. Both can cause drought and stop rain.

The worst is the mountain drought demon, called ge. It looks like a man with a long head, with a single eye on top of its skull. It can eat dragons, and the Rain Master is afraid of it. When it sees a cloud forming it lifts its head and blows, and the cloud scatters and the sun gets fiercer. People cannot control it.

Some say: when Heaven means there to be a drought, the qi of mountains and streams congeals and forms it. If it suddenly disappears, it rains.
