Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2026.

This site is a static website run by an independent hobbyist. It is designed to collect as little information as possible. In plain language:

What we collect

  • Newsletter email address. If you subscribe, your email address is stored by our mailing-list provider (Buttondown) solely to send you the newsletter. Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link; unsubscribing deletes your address from the list.
  • Cookie preference. A single item in your browser's local storage records whether you accepted or declined the cookie notice. It never leaves your device.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard, short-lived technical logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested) for security and abuse prevention. We do not access, combine or analyse these for profiling.

What we do not do

  • No advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party analytics.
  • No user accounts, no comment systems, no forms other than the newsletter signup.
  • No selling, renting or sharing of any personal data with anyone.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, correct, export or erase any personal data we hold about you — which, in practice, means your newsletter email address. Write to the address on the contact page and it will be handled within thirty days. The legal basis for processing is your explicit consent, given at signup and revocable at any time via the unsubscribe link.

Third-party services

The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which involves a request to Google's servers. If this concerns you, browser extensions that block third-party fonts will not affect readability beyond a change of typeface. The newsletter form submits directly to Buttondown; their privacy policy applies to that submission.
